AFIR Compliance for Carlo Gavazzi EM580 and DCM1 Energy Meters

Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, is pleased to announce that two of their flagship products, the EM580 and DCM1, are now compliant with AFIR (Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation), marking an important step forward in enhancing transparency and accessibility for electric vehicle (EV) charging station users.

Thanks to a new feature introduced in both the DCM1 series (DC energy meter) and the EM580 series (AC energy meter), both solutions are now capable of displaying tariff and pricing information directly on the screen. This update fully complies with AFIR requirements, which mandate that such information is “clearly and easily available” to users, eliminating the need for an additional display.

This innovation represents a further step toward adopting more transparent and user-friendly solutions for all EV charging station users, helping to facilitate access to essential information and improving the overall charging experience. With AFIR compliance, Carlo Gavazzi reaffirms their commitment to sustainable innovation and adherence to evolving European
regulations.
