DCS Spartan Controls Becomes Exclusive Rep of Fike 1 400

June 6, 2022

Spartan Controls is pleased to announce it is the exclusive representative for Fike in Western Canada. Fike is a global leader in the manufacturing of rupture disc technologies, and this new partnership will offer customers unparalleled capability, experience, and local support.

“We are delighted to add Spartan Controls to our channel within the Americas,” said Shannon Sanders, Director of Sales, Americas & Europe, Fike. “Spartan has a proven track record of working with customers while providing solutions for pressure relief applications. This will bring continued success to our overall growth strategy and enhance the customer experience.”

Fike rupture discs are designed to provide a leak-tight seal within a pipe or vessel until the internal pressure rises to a predetermined level. At that point, the disc bursts—within one or two milliseconds of an overpressure event—preventing damage to the equipment.

“We are very excited to announce our new partnership with Fike and add their line of high-quality products to our Pressure Relief portfolio,” said Doug Ndegwa, Vice President, Valves & Actuation, Spartan Controls. “Our customers will greatly benefit from Fike’s dedication to safety, innovation, and customer service.”

Fike rupture discs can also be used to isolate your Pressure Relief Valves (PRV) from process media and downstream contaminants, protecting them from corrosive media, build-up, and polymerization. PRVs can also be a source of process emissions, an increasing environmental concern. By installing Fike rupture/bursting discs upstream of your PRV, you not only protect the valve, but greatly decrease emissions.

Conserving Power and CO2 Emissions with Premium Efficiency Motors

The process of converting electrical energy to mechanical energy is never perfect. As much as we would like to have a 100% efficient motor, it is impossible to build a machine that will take 746 watts of electricity (the equivalent of 1 Hp) and convert it to 1 Hp of mechanical output. It always takes somewhat more than 746 watts to yield 1 Hp’s worth of output.

Motors are continuously being pushed to be more efficient and reduce these losses. Over the years the guiding regulations of motor manufacturing have pushed us to improve efficiencies to new levels to reduce the considerable global power consumption of motors, as they are everywhere. From our factories, utilities and homes and most anywhere you can think of.

How much power consumption aka money are you spending that you do not have to? Take a minute while having your coffee to see if you can save money.
