Drive and automation specialist SEW-EURODRIVE has officially opened its new Drive Technology Center (DTC) in the United Arab Emirates with a festive ceremony. The opening took place during a delegation trip to the Gulf States by the German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Katherina Reiche (CDU). The Minister was accompanied by a high-ranking delegation from Germany representing business, science, and politics.

“We are delighted to welcome such a prominent guest from our company’s home country, Federal Minister Reiche, to the opening of our building,” emphasized Philippe Acar, Managing Director of SEW-EURODRIVE in the United Arab Emirates, during the visit. “We were able to show her that even in these challenging times, there are German industrial companies that are investing around the globe in space for innovation, customer proximity, and sustainable growth, and that they are looking to the future with confidence.”

SEW-EURODRIVE consolidates development, production, and service operations at its Drive Technology Centers. The new building encompasses approximately 8,000 square meters, including roughly 2,500 square meters of office space and 5,300 square meters of production hall space. It will officially commence operations in January 2026. SEW has maintained a presence in Dubai since 2016, managing business throughout the Gulf region and in Egypt from there.

The Dubai location is also an example of successful diversity: Around 40 employees from a wide range of countries and cultures currently work there, speaking ten different languages. “With the new DTC, we have created a state-of-the-art and future-proof working environment for our employees,” explained Philippe Acar at the inauguration.
