Electromate Adds Kollmorgen Essentials™ Servo Motion System to Its Product Lineup

Electromate Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of the Kollmorgen Essentials™ Servo Motion System in its offerings, reinforcing its commitment to providing accessible, high-performance motion control solutions to machine builders, OEMs, and automation integrators across Canada.

The Kollmorgen Essentials line combines servo motors, drives, and single-cable connectivity into an optimized package designed for industrial automation, packaging, material handling, and warehouse systems. By pre-configuring key axis configurations and standardizing interfaces, the Essentials solution helps to reduce development time, simplify procurement, and shorten deployment.

Key Features & Benefits
  • Power range & torque: Motors from 200 W to 3 kW, delivering continuous stall torque from 0.74 to 11.5 Nm.
  • Speed capability: Rated speed of 3,000 rpm, with a maximum up to 6,000 rpm.
  • Feedback system: Battery-less, multi-turn absolute feedback via the SFD-M encoder (24-bit single-turn + 16-bit multi-turn) — no battery replacements required.
  • Connectivity: Single rotatable IP65 connector for power, feedback, and brake signals.
  • Drive compatibility & integration: Drives support EtherCAT®, EtherNet/IP™ CIP Sync™, and PROFINET® IRT.
  • Setup efficiency: Built-in “Express Setup” via Kollmorgen WorkBench enables commissioning in under 20 minutes.
  • Safety & standards: Drives include Safe Torque Off (STO) functionality and meet SIL2 / PL d safety ratings.
  • Design flexibility: Optional features such as IP65-rated shaft seals, 24 VDC brakes, and a keyed or keyless shaft kit ensure adaptability to varying application requirements.
Market Impact & Strategic Rationale

With the introduction of the Essentials solution, Electromate fills a gap between highly customized servo systems and commodity motion products. The pre-configured nature of the Essentials lineup lowers the barrier for adoption by smaller OEMs or projects requiring faster time to market.

Availability & Ordering

Electromate is making the Kollmorgen Essentials Servo Motion System available immediately to Canadian customers through its website and sales channels. Customers can configure motors (200 W to 3 kW), drives (with varying continuous and peak current ratings), cabling lengths, and optional features such as shaft sealing.
