Safe Small Controller PNOZmulti 2 – Up and Down Without a Care!

Users and manufacturers reach their destination safely with the safe small controllers PNOZmulti 2

Safe small controller PNOZmulti 2 – up and down without a care! Lifts are still among the safest means of transport. To date, their safety-related functions are primarily implemented through mechanical-electrical components. So in addition to floor switches, limit switches and inspection switches, most lifts have a separate shaft copying system and speed limitation device. To date, only in isolated cases are electronic components equipped with safety functions.

Programmable electronic systems, such as the configurable safe small controller PNOZmulti 2, are what are called PESSRAL (Programmable Electronic Systems in Safety-Related Applications for Lifts). They combine these functions, so replacing mechanical components that are high maintenance and susceptible to ageing.

Safety components for lifts and goods lifts may only be sold in Europe if they have previously been certified by an independent, notified body. This is regulated by the European Union in the Lifts Directive 2014/33/EU.

Type examination certificate awarded for use in elevators, lifts, escalators

The base units of the PNOZmulti 2 product range and associated expansion modules have been certified by TÜV SÜD as a programmable electronic system, known as PESSRAL, in accordance with the directive 2014/33/EU. TÜV Süd presented Pilz with the certification document at the world’s leading international trade fair Interlift, in Augsburg in October 2023.

These standards were the basis for inspection:
  • EN 81-20:2020
  • EN 81-22:2021
  • EN 81-50:2020
  • EN 115-1:2017
Very large range of applications possible

That’s how users and manufacturers reach their destination safely with the safe small controllers PNOZmulti 2 – whether that’s to the top of the summit or deep underground – the multi-talented PNOZmulti is everywhere:

  • Goods lifts
  • Passenger lifts
  • Domestic lifts
  • Lifting platforms
  • Vehicle/car lifts
  • Stage lifts
  • Ship lifts
  • Residential lifts
  • Patient lifts
  • Disabled lifts
  • Dumb waiters
  • Service lifts
  • Escalators
  • Moving walkways
  • Travelators

Safety Switches with Guard Locking by Pilz

Movable guards such as swing gates and sliding gates, flaps or covers, can be found in almost every application. If there are dangerous overrun movements, a safety locking device with appropriate manipulation protection in accordance with EN ISO 14119 is required.
