Type 4X, 6P Enclosures 1555F Series Watertight, Flanged Lid, UL Listed Options fro Hammond Manufacturing

The Type4X, 6P enclosures, 1555F Series from Hammond Manufacturing have been designed for harsh industrial environments or outdoor applications (security, outdoor wireless, controls, and more). They are ideally suited for mounting printed circuit boards, panels or DIN rail mounted components. The lid is secured with included M4 stainless steel machine screws which are threaded into corrosion resistant bushings for repetitive assembly and disassembly.

Features of the Type 4X, 6P Enclosures 1555F Series:

  • Designed for harsh industrial environments or outdoor applications (security, outdoor wireless, controls, and more).
  • Ideally suited for mounting printed circuit boards, panels or DIN rail mounted components.
  • Designed for wall mounting. Interior is secure as lid screws are behind the lid.
  • Satin texture RAL7035 grey finish with smooth recessed surface on lid for a membrane keypad or label.
  • Standoffs molded in the interior of the lid and enclosure are designed for #4 x 1/4” self-tapping screws (Hammond’s part number 1555TS100).
  • Gasketed lid with two-piece tongue and groove construction provides protection against access of oil, dust, and water.
  • Gasket is one piece made from high temperature, UL listed silicone.  Supplied loose inside the enclosure (not pre-installed).
  • Lid is secured with included M4 stainless steel machine screws which are threaded into corrosion resistant bushings for repetitive assembly and disassembly.
    • Order part number SC576-50 for replacement M4 x 20mm lid assembly screws.
  • Internal features are maximized for mounting options and vary with size:
    • Internal DIN rail mounting tabs molded into lid (except 1555CF22 & 1555CF42 sizes).
    • Standoffs for PC board or inner panel. 

Ratings of the Type 4X, 6P Enclosures 1555F Series:

ABS
  • ABS versions are molded from general purpose material which carries a flammability rating of UL94-HB. For indoor use.
  • ABS versions are not UL listed but have been tested to and meet IP66 ratings.
  • ABS versions carry an impact rating of IK07 per IEC 62262:2021.
  • Recommended operating temperature: -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F).
Polycarbonate
  • Polycarbonate versions are UV stabilized for outdoor use.  Gray polycarb carries a UL94-5VA rating, while clear and smoked lids carry a UL94V-0 rating.
  • Polycarbonate versions are cUL and UL 508A listed under file #E65324. 
  • Polycarbonate versions have been independently tested to meet IP66, IP67, and IP68 as well as NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13 ratings.
    • Exception: 1554VGY, 1554V2GY, 1554V2GYCL, and 1554V2GYSL are Type 4, 4X only.
  • Polycarbonate versions carry an impact rating of IK08 per IEC 62262:2021.
  • Recommended operating temperature: -40°C to +110°C (-40°F to +230°F).
    • Customers should conduct their own testing to determine suitability for any specific application.
