Rockwell Automation Expands Application Coverage with Permanent Magnet Motors and Extends Device Analytics in Medium Voltage PowerFlex VFDs
Medium voltage PowerFlex 6000T variable frequency drives (VFDs) are engineered for applications ranging from industrial fans and pumps to non-regen conveyors and compressors that require 2.3…11 kV motor control.

 PowerFlex® 6000T Medium Voltage VFDs

The latest firmware release for PowerFlex® 6000T medium voltage variable frequency drive (VFD) now supports efficient permanent magnet (PM) motor applications. As manufacturers in the oil, gas, HVAC, paper, water, metals and forestry industries aim for new energy efficiency and sustainability goals with PM motor solutions, the PowerFlex VFD supports high-speed applications up to 120 Hz output frequency, from 2.3…11 kV up to 680 A.

The PowerFlex 6000T VFD offers expanded predictive maintenance capabilities enabled by TotalFORCE® technology. Communicating real-time component health data helps reduce downtime and provides predictive maintenance alerts for fans, transformers, and airflow along with motor and machine bearings and lubrication. Plus, the drive displays runtime alerts for critical components like power cells.

The secondary precharge support is now housed within the existing footprint, reducing costs and valuable floor space. The drive offers more options for configuration, including ENETR for EtherNet/IP, plus 13TCOMMP1 for PROFIBUS, Encoder Cards, I/O Modules and more. Additionally, this CIP Security-enabled drive is better protected from cyber threats.

PowerFlex 6000T VFD is engineered for new and retrofit variable torque, constant torque and high-speed motor applications – and available for order.
