On Sept. 25, Apollo Electric & Controls, an new electrical company, fired up in Estevan. The outfit is run by partners Trevor Dutka and Jim Schlamp, who have joined up with the partners behind Estevan Meter Services Ltd. to create a sister company. Apollo works out of Estevan Meter’s building on the east side of Estevan.
Siemens is launching a new app for drive systems in the field of Motion Control called Analyze MyDrives, and has also introduced Manage MyMachines/Remote, a new plug-in to upgrade its tried and tested Manage MyMachines MindApp for machine tools with the addition of a smart remote feature.
The Halifax Herald Ltd. in Nova Scotia is the largest independently owned newspaper publisher in Canada. The publisher has just the one press at its print site just outside Halifax. With no backup press, the commissioning of the new systems had to be undertaken without interrupting the normal daily production.
