Yaskawa Whitepaper: Redundant VFDs and Fan Arrays in Critical Operations

May 22, 2024 Why Offshore Wind Power is the Future of Renewable Energy Aside from hydropower, wind energy farms are currently producing the most clean, renewable energy worldwide. And unlike hydropower, the potential for growth is substantial. Wind could supply more than one-third of global electricity demand by 2050, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Reaching this…
Pistachio trees didn’t exist in this country in the 1930s. Today, the U.S. is the world’s second-largest producer – and worldwide demand continues to grow. Once reserved for royalty, pistachios have become a global snack sensation. People are hungry for the green nut because of its unique flavor, along with its natural health attributes. Like almonds, walnuts and other nut varieties, pistachios are packed with protein, antioxidants and fiber.
Robots are an integral part of the manufacturing industry worldwide to the extent that they are indispensable. In production, robots and cobots frequently encounter each other, working and interacting side by side with humans, but also performing tasks independently. The latest industrial robots move in a three-dimensional space and can therefore perform a wide variety of tasks. In order to ensure optimum system performance, the use of a dress pack is required to keep a robot running as frequently as possible. Regional Sales Manager Gordon Post discusses some of the questions he hears in the field about robotic cable protection systems.
Valve position feedback and end position monitoring systems are used in process engineering plants to transfer information about the state of valves to the control panels and control rooms. Modern solutions operate inductively and offer several advantages over conventional feedback systems with mechanical contacts, which often have a limited-service life. Inductive noncontact systems from Pepperl+Fuchs are suitable for almost any challenge—from indoor, outdoor, and extreme applications to use in hazardous areas and with low-power electronics. Find out in this blog article which dual inductive sensor from Pepperl+Fuchs is the optimal solution for your application.
The pumping facility at the Annacis Island plant is a critical part of the infrastructure, as collection and conveyance systems transport the FSA wastewater to the plant. The three 1,200-horsepower influent pumps and four 684-horsepower trickling filter pumps have been in service for about two decades and were at their end-of-life stage. These large pumps regulate the level of raw sewage in the wet well, conveying it into the treatment plant.
