PxG® Integrated Precision Planetary Gearmotors from SEW-EURODRIVE
PxG® integrated – highly dynamic performance and precise positioning in a small installation space

The new PxG® integrated series combines PxG® planetary gear units and CM3G.. servomotors to create a single highly compact, precise, and dynamic unit.

Specifically developed for highly dynamic applications involving precise positioning

SEW-EURODRIVE’s PxG®M..CM3G.. precision planetary gearmotors have been specifically developed for highly dynamic applications involving precise positioning. One key feature is their extremely compact design, with aninstallation length up to 40% shorterthan conventional servo planetary gearmotors with adapter mounting for the motor. In the future, this means PxG® integrated precision planetary gearmotors will even be suitable for many applications that previously required right-angle gear units. Furthermore, the compact design ensures extremely high torsional rigidity and a low mass moment of inertia. Together with the high overload capacity, these features maximize the solution’s dynamic credentials.

In conjunction with the high-performance materials being used, the latest winding and magnet technology results in high efficiency and reduced heat generation, despite the compact design.

The acoustic optimization of components and the high-precision helical planetary gear units of the PxG® series also ensure low-noise operation.

Features

  • Three gear unit sizes (PxG® 3, 4, and 5), each in three performance classes, can at present be combined with two motor sizes (CM3G71 and CM3G80), each in two lengths (S and M)
  • Single-stage, two-stage, and three-stage precision gear units with gear ratios of 4 to 220
  • Output variants: flange block with/without index bore, solid shaft – smooth or with key/splining
  • Output shaft designs optionally also available in stainless steel
  • Rotational clearance between 1 and 8 angular minutes, depending on the size and number of stages
  • Can be used instead of right-angle gearmotors thanks to the extremely compact design
  • IP65 degree of protection (option of IP66)
  • Ambient temperature of -15 °C to +40 °C
  • Exceptionally smooth running and excellent controllability thanks to an optimized electromagnetic design
  • Flexible encoder options – Resolver, Hiperface, EnDat2.2 (MOVILINK® DDI in preparation)
  • Less cabling thanks to single-cable technology with EnDat2.2 digital encoders
  • Compact version with single-cable technology and no encoder

Technical data

The technical data is based on the combination of SEW-EURODRIVE’s PxG® precision planetary gear units in sizes 3, 4, and 5 and the new CM3G71 and CM3G80 motors.
